Devotion: God is doing something new

By Pastor Kenya Hobbs

And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.“ Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Revelation 21:5

I recently talked with a member of City Church Buffalo who was discouraged over an unfortunate life event. I shared that I have seen difficult days as well, but one thing I know about God is that He has the power to restore and make all things new again. We prayed and believed together for better days.

They walked away with fresh optimism and a changed perspective. “Instead of complaining, Pastor, I am going to believe God to do something fresh and wonderful.”

We serve a God who makes all things new—now and hereafter. Expect Him to do new things in your life as well.

As I have been sharing with City Church members, in 2023, we are focused on the new things God is doing in this ministry and the world. Despite the hardships we face on our faith journey, we expect God to bring about great and exciting things.

As we continue our local, regional, national, and international missions efforts this year, join me in believing for a greater harvest. Expectation is the key to seeing God’s hand move.

A Prayer: God, thank You for the incredible harvest of new things to come this year. I stand in great expectation of how You will move. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
